![]() ![]() There's a stuck carbon mold, assorted globs of epoxy scattered around, but most importantly - the seatpost couldn't be inserted without taking a file to bits of carbon that were left sticking out - one of these days I'll get around to calling Look (the dealer here isn't very cooperative and said that all these things were "normal") to see if this is something they consider unacceptable. The carbon layup and finish on the Look is beautiful, but the finish inside of it leaves a little to be desired. The 586 is a delight on the few modest hills here in Louisiana. The 586 seems more comfortable than the 595 to me but not by much, plus the 595 is getting kind of hard to find unless you buy a used one. The 586 is far more comfortable, but feels rather boring (for lack of a better word) during normal riding, but when pushed hard it really comes to life. My thoughts on it are that the De Rosa had a much more lively feeling - not nervous at all, just more "eager" to turn, stop, etc. I just switched to Look (586 RSP) from De Rosa (Avant). I'm really just looking for something that has that great ride quality that I’ve been missing. Any thoughts on which Look you would buy if you had the choice (585, 595, or 586 - and would you do ISP or RSP)? Or should I consider something else? DeRosa? Wilier? I’m 6'3 210 lbs and am not going to be racing on this bike, nor do I care about it being super light. I've been reading several forums and everyone seems to love the Looks they're riding (which is a great vote of confidence but doesn't help me out in deciding which model to buy). I thought that I had decided to take a close look at buying a DeRosa King 3 but while looking for a bike for my girlfriend (think I’ve settled on a Look 566) I started realizing how cool the Looks are and have become very interested in possibly replacing my Z3 for one. I’ve been riding a Parlee Z3c for the past few years - it's a great bike but I've never had the same appreciation for it as I did my DeRosa. I had a 2003 DeRosa King 3 for a few years and absolutely loved it - even though it was a heavier bike by today's standards, that bike had the amazing ride quality that DeRosa, Colnago, etc were striving for and seemed to think was more important than weight. Wondering if you guys can help me with some opinions about what frame to buy? I'm trying to decide between a Look (still not sure what to think about the 585 vs. ![]()
